Designing furniture, like architecture, is basically problem solving. It has been the core of my work and my initial venture into three-dimensional structure. Many pieces were designed for particular projects to reflect architectural elements. Sometimes the pieces inspired the surround. In either case indirectly but hopefully some pieces might be examples of my yet unwritten thesis, "The Inner Life of Inanimate Objects."
If something I design suggests a sense of its own energy, inspires a smile or looks like it may move or sneak up to the next floor to meet its mate in the middle of the night… that's it!
